Next we made our way from the cornfields of Nebraska through the scenic Sandhills region north to cross over into South Dakota. For this leg of our race, we were to enjoy Wall Drug (sent by Denise Saey and Lisa Bedian). I wasn't sure we'd make it that far but gained an hour along the way. We even had time to go through Badlands National Park and purchase our annual pass that we plan to take full advantage of in the weeks ahead.

Donnie wanted you all to know how brave we were on the trails. Check out the sign!

We arrived in Wall,SD with time to grill dinner and head to Wall Drug for homemade pie and ice cream.

Even though we have completed our task for SD and plan to call the Garretts tomorrow for our North Dakota destination, we will be staying around here for a few days. It has been 15 years since we traveled here and we are excited to see Mt Rushmore again and add a few things we missed back then. (Yes Max, you can repeat things even if you are running out of travel years! Some things are worth repeating).
