Let the Games Begin

If you are new to this blog, I have spent most of last year chronically the thought processes, actions and emotions that go into leaving behind a career I loved as an educator and into retirement.  We are ready to begin our first adventure.  Here is our version of the Amazing Race.  In the next six weeks (give or take since we have no real timeline), we will be venturing into the 17 states west of Missouri.  As I said, other than the order of states which I'll list below, we have no real plan, no budget, no reservations, and no timeline.  We do however, have a truck loaded.  I am still figuring out how to post pictures from my Ipad so bear with me and I'll try to give you a glimpse.

We are leaving tomorrow morning and calling the person who signed up for Kansas to tell us where to go.  After we have completed that mission, we call the person who has Nebraska and so on.  The atlas will be my best friend (after Donnie of course).  As a reminder to those of you who signed up - Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma - and then back to Missouri!

As long as I have some service, I plan to post each day about where we are, what we've done, how many miles we've traveled and what we spend (we plan to continue our role as educators here by sharing).  I hope you enjoy the journey with us.
