24

What a difference a day makes, especially on this journey! Just 24 hours ago we were enjoying the colorful, hip city of San Francisco. This morning we were soaking up the picturesque Napa Valley. Now we are in the massive Yosemite National Park (which means this may not get posted for a day or two when we tear ourselves away and head back to the fast paced world). We have gone from 0 feet above sea level to 8000. We had 50 degree temps yesterday and 90s today.

As I write this, it is Thursday I think; 2 days into week 4 and still going! I am including a photo of another rest stop restaurant just to prove we really are doing it as I describe.

You may be disappointed to learn we didn't do any sampling this morning. We spent the time taking in the visual aspects of the 30 miles called Napa Valley rather than treating our sense of taste. Besides, there were too many options and research was needed to make a good decision of where to stop. The entire valley, settled in between 2 rows of mountains, was filled with vineyards and wineries. We will definitely be returning another time!

We made it to Yosemite by late afternoon for our first view of El Capitan and Bridal Veil Falls. At this very moment, we just finished a picnic at Glacier Point waiting for the sunset to turn Half Dome pink and then see the stars light up the night. What an amazing universe we live in and we are so lucky to be experiencing it!
